Sexually transmitted infections are major cause of morbidity in sexually active individuals and continue to pose major medical, social and economic burden worldwide. Untreated STIs can lead to infertility and increase the risk for genital cancers in both men and women. PaxView STI6 MPCR-ULFA Kit is designed for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis(CT), Neisseria gonorrhoeae(NG), Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU), Mycoplasma genitalium(MG), Mycoplasma hominis(MH) and Tricomonas vaginalis(TV) DNA, using multiplexed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and universal ateral flow assay(ULFA) which is based on DNA-DNA hybridization on the nitrocellulose membrane. The outstanding specificity and sensitivity of this kit allows faster and accurate diagnosis of 6 STI pathogens compared to that of traditional methods of detection such as culturing. The sensitivity and dynamic range of PaxView STI6 MPCR-ULFA Kit are 10 copies/reaction and 8 logs, respectively.

The PaxView STI6 MPCR-ULFA is an original technology that can amplify a target gene from the sample with the use of target specific/universal primers and enable the visual inspection of a result of DNA hybridization on the nitrocellulose membrane between amplified single stranded universal DNA and complementary universal probe. When reaction buffer including PCR product is added to the sample pad, it moves to the nitrocellulose membrane and hybridizes along with universal probe that is immobilized on the specific region of the nitrocellulose membrane. Finally, it is easy to visually check the result within 15 min after adding PCR product.
